Frequently Asked Questions

Skips Ordered: 0 | Total Cost: £0.00 Checkout

These are some of the questions we often get asked, together with answers, of course!

Q. Can the skip be put in the road outside my house?

At extra cost - Yes, we are registered with all surrounding councils to request a permit to place one of our skips in the road on your behalf, the cost of the permit will depend on the council concerned and length of hire ( at time of writing Southend-On-Sea is £45 ) Southend on Sea skip Permits take generally 10 days to arrange. We hold licences to provide road skips with a number of different local councils, please call us on 01702 430570 for up to date prices and turn around times. Alternatively why dont you try our wait & load service, we can arrange for a skip to be sent out and our driver will wait while you ( we unfortunately do not provide labour ) load the skip. This saves you the wait for a road licence to be approved as well as the cost of an additional licence. Customers should bear in mind that our driver can only generally wait for up to approx 1hr so your waste will need to be ready to go, ideally in a pile close to where we can get a skip dropped. A friend or 2 to help throw your rubbish in helps !

Q. How big is the lorry that will deliver my skip?

We have both 7.5 ton and 18 ton skip loading vehicles in our fleet. 7.5 ton skip vehicles whilst being shorter and not as wide can not carry as much weight, depending on the weight of the waste you are putting in the skip a decision will be made if delivery and collection can be made in a smaller vehicle. for 7.5 ton delivery/collection allow 8ft width, for 18 ton allow 10ft.

Q. How long can I keep a skip ?

Our standard skip hire is for a 7 days from time of hire, please contact us if you require the skip for a longer period of time. There is normally no extra charge. If you fill the skip before we can collect as soon as your finished.

Q. How much can I put in the skip?

You may fill the skip as high as the top of the sides of the skip. Any waste above the sides of the skip will be charged at a extra cost. Any waste deemed unsafe will be removed prior to collection.

Q. How quickly can I get a skip?

We can usually get a skip to you the same day, sometimes within a couple hours. We have drivers on the road from 6am up until 5pm Monday to Saturday.
